CREATIVE LAB 2018

Costume / Dance / Technology

Creative Lab brings together a select group of costume designers, choreographers and creative technologists to investigate how physical computing, mixed and virtual reality and e-textiles can inform practice when combined with dance and choreography. The 6 day intensive programme starts with presentations, workshops and experimentation in the Digital Learning Lab and Arcade East spaces at Mare Street, participants can then form smaller groups to develop their ideas further with the help of our workshop leaders.

Creative Lab 2018 took place between 3 – 8 September 2018. Participants experienced workshops and presentations facilitated by Ivan Blackstock, Choreographer and Artistic Director of Crxss Platfxrm; alongside staff from London College of Fashion: Mouhannad Al-Sayegh, Creative Technologist at the Digital Learning Lab; Agnes Treplin, Course Director for MA Costume Design for Performance; and Claire Christie, Senior Lecturer for BA Costume for Performance.

Creative Lab – Costume / Dance / Technology is a partnership between LCF Arts Programme and East London Dance and first took place in July 2017.
